Dear families,
In Language, we are continuing our unit on fables. This week, students will begin brainstorming elements for their own fable. All students should be working on completing Spelling list 21 activity pages for this Thursday.
In Math, we will finish our unit on 2-D geometry. There will be a math test this Friday on everything taught in class.
In Social Studies, the grade 3 students will continue to explore the historical world of Pioneers in Canada. This unit will focus on explaining how the early settlers valued, used and looked after natural resources; comparing aspects of life in early settler communities and present day communities; describing the major components of early settlement (education, blacksmith, church etc.)
The Grade 2 students will examine the properties of liquids and solids. The big ideas of this unit are: Materials that exist as liquids and solids have specific properties. Liquids and solids interact in different ways. Some liquids and solids can be harmful to us and the environment.
