June 17-21 Update

Dear Parents,

Here are some friendly reminders about tomorrow’s trip to Toronto Island.

·        Students should wear a uniform shirt and appropriate comfortable bottoms.
·        Please ensure your child brings a litter-less lunch with two snacks and a refillable water bottle. There will not be opportunities to purchase food or beverages.
·        As we are taking the ferry, and it may be breezy, it would be beneficial if students brought a sweater.
·        Parent volunteers will meet us at the ferry to help supervise.
·        This is intended to be a fun day of outdoor physical activity- we are not going to be using the amusement park rides.
Get ready for a fantastic memorable day boys and girls!

The grade 2/3 Spelling program is now finished and there will no longer be spelling assessments on Fridays. The students have done a fantastic job throughout the year studying their weekly list words and I am quite proud of the overall results! This Friday we will be watching the movie of The Tale of Despereaux as we have been having a fantastic time discussing the main characters, plot events and the story’s big idea.

In Math, we will be wrapping up fractions. There will be a subtraction math drill this Friday. A practice sheet was sent home today.

In Social studies, we will continue to discuss the oceans and continents that make up our world as we look at different maps.

In Religion and Family Life, we will discuss the importance of making good choices and family commitments. Students will learn that a commitment is a responsibility that you try really hard to live up to. We have commitments at school, at home and in the work place. Students should also be preparing a prayer of choice for our community circle this Wednesday afternoon.
